Activity 1: Students will view a film on food safety and handling from CEV. See corresponding notes in the download area. Students will generate a safety and cleanliness plan for the PHS commodity processing laboratory. Reading: Sargento Food Safety - terms and protocol
Activity 2: Students will swab areas for microorganisms to test results of cleanliness for the safety and cleanliness plan. Research will be conducted on various microorganisms.
Activity 3: Students will learn about the preservation methods of commodities.
